About Tag-A-Long Trailers

In 2019 Robbie Skidmore took the reins over from his father Rodney Skidmore, Robbie’s goal is to create a quality product whilst using local labour and stay Aussie made. His employees are part of the family and likes to treat his customers the same.

Robbie has seen the high and lows of the industry from being involved in tag a long as soon as he could walk. As a toddler he would get his Father Rodney to make him small trailers to go behind his pedal tractor, his favourite was road trains where he had at least 3 trailers fully loaded with toys and things he could find lying around the yard. Then he upgraded to his quad bike and the trailers got bigger and the number got larger.

Now he also participates in vintage tractor pulling with his favourite tractor his Oliver Brown or if he needs more grunt he uses the six cylinder Fordson. Robbie also helps out where he can from helping mates with harvest (when he’s not in the shed) and participating in hay runs to help people in need. When he’s not helping his mates and community, he is away tinkering in the shed, 4 wheel driving or teaching his one year old nephew all about the family business.

He built his first trailer for his motorbike at the age of 11, and painted it the brightest green colour he could find. From there it just kept getting bigger and better. Robbie likes to “bling up” his trucks and trailers and can do this for his customers at their request. The more stainless and lights the better. Tag A Long can offer scroll decals, stainless surrounds on tiedown bars and extra lights, so you can have a trailer that stands out as much as the truck that you take so much pride in.

The famous Tag A Long trailer was designed and built in 1985 by his father Rodney Skidmore and his friend after discovering a gap in the market for trailers to move earth moving and construction equipment.

We run a team of less than 20 employees, but we all work together to make sure that you get the best product possible. We understand that in today’s day and age workmanship and pride is sometimes not shown in one’s product, but at Tag A Long we are different, we take pride in our work and make sure that it meets all expectations and more. And if something unforeseen should happen we offer 36 months Structural warranty and 12 months warranty on componentry on our new trailers and are always willing to troubleshoot any little problems that could arise, as great after sales service is another reason to look at a Tag A Long for your next trailer.

In 2021 we welcomed our new sales manager Colin back to the Tag A Long family, after a five year break from working for us he is back and happy to help with any sales enquires you may have.
